Geico Borrowed Casio's Logo

Recently noticed a slight similarity in these two companies logos (huge adjacent billboards at shea). Geico, Casio, and that beautiful “phthalo blue” pigment were all founded (and branded) between 1936 and 1946. Graphic Design trends?
