B2B Manufacturing Sites Don’t Have to Be Sexy Linda Rigano, director of strategic alliances for ThomasNet, is quoted in BtoB’s Vertical Insight Guide with regard to manufacturing Websites. According to Rigano, manufacturing companies’ Websites don’t need to win design awards. Instead, a manufacturing company should “create a site that’s functional and easy for a buyer to use — one that’s going to lead them closer and closer to you.” Rigano advises companies to include interactive CAD drawing

Barry Schwartz says if you thought Google Trends for Websites was scary, meet Google Ad Planner. Beta testers can enter in demographic information and sites associated with their audience and Google will spit out a list of other sites their audience is likely to visit. Barry says he was able to find information like unique visitors, their income, gender, behavior, page views, category information, and lots more spy stuff. Abilene University is providing iPhones to all incoming students starting with 2008 freshmen in order to make students more pro-active on the go. What a lucky bunch. Perhaps more universities will follow the trend?

Earlier this year, "The Insider" reported that former "American Idol" winners Taylor Hicks and Ruben Studdard had been dropped by their record labels. Today, we have confirmed that season six runner-up Blake Lewis has joined the unfortunate two and has been dropped by Arista Records. The label issued the following statement to "The Insider": "Arista Records will not be picking up Blake's option and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors."
